Short Story - Restless Seed



The men put him in a 4x6 centimeter hole and covered by soil, Sprayed some fertilizer and water on him.  The seed was all delusional and furious, He was thinking I am going to die, why they buried me, what’s the wrong I did, what this death punishment is for? But the men didn’t listened and leave.

Seed lost all hope and accepted his fate to stay there at mud, the fate that he is going to die soon, but he didn’t. He was going through turbulent situation. After two days he felt something unusual happening to him, he realized the wetness of soil and nutrition of fertilizer has kept him alive and made him feel energized then before, and it was growing by each moment.

The day after he felt the utmost power within him and he was feeling restless, restless to breath, restless to defend, restless to fight, restless not to accept the defeat, restless to take new birth. He accumulated his whole energy and pushed the billion ton weight which was over him and came out of it in the form of a tiny plant.

He enjoys the first light after eternity and breath to the fullest. Over the period of time he grows and grows. After few weeks he started producing firstly flowers and then fruits, those were beautiful flowers and sweet fruits.

He was totally amazed seeing there were so many seeds in one fruit, but all were unaware of their power, height of their limits. But he was at peace all looking at them, with a smile.
